My diary –a day out at the seaside

It was a very cold day that we woke to so we let the sun get higher and had a Vegetarian lunch of Mexican Bean Burger as I’m trying to go slowly to a Vegetarian as this is highly recommended by the experts on Cancer.

Its not easy though.

We went for a drive to Reculver again and have taken some photos so I will put them on this blog while I have this break in the medical side of of my illness.

We were amazed at how many people also had the same idea as the car park was full so we went for a walk along the walk way that is 5 miles long and we have cycled and walked many times to Minnis Bay and back.

Oyster Nursery and looking towards Minnis Bay

There is a cafe both end’s which you are very happy about and have had tea and something to eat each time.

Not to day though as apart from the cafe being closed (there is a publicHouse though) it was far to bitter windy to even try to go to far.

We had a walk about taking photos and gave the dog his run so he was happy to get back to the car as we were.

On the way home we followed the Coastal road and everywhere the cars were as busy as if it was a sunny summers day.

Hernebay, Hampton, Tankerton, and then Whitstable High Street was packed it  was amazing.

When we got in I got the Roast beef Dinner on (well I said it would be hard).

Today has been a Good day.

My diary– Is it getting any colder.

The beach today

How cold will it get again as it has been so bitter although the sun has beamed away when the sun went down everything has frozen.

The Pond has had a sheet off ice all day.

I would love to get out and tidy the garden up and I wait for a spring sort of day to do it.

Ray has put new batteries in the Solar garden lights ready for me to put them where I want them.

the sea today

A walk round the sea front was very chilly and everyone looked cold as they walked by.

I forgot to take Louis ball with me so he found a plastic drinks bottle and started a football match with it. we have hidden it in a hedge to see if he finds it tomorrow.

For Dinner I made Chicken Tikka for Ray and a Fish Pie for myself  we had this at lunchtime for a change so tonight we had Scrambled Egg, Bacon, Tomato and Mushrooms for tea.

We have to go out in the very cold to give Louis his last walk brrr!!

My Diary –another Swine Flu Jab

Had a brilliant nights sleep, I seem to be sleeping so well since the Chemo –apart from the 2 nights the dog was woken up by something in the garden.

Almost 42 days since the chemo ended and Im getting stronger and can feel a difference in my well being except for the afternoon naps.

The sea was rough and the wind was very cold

We walked around to the beach and the sea was very rough as the wind was blowing from the North, such a cold wind and wonderful black clouds where coming in from Essex.

We got home in time before the rain started.

My appointment for my Swine flu was 5.40 so we went at 5pm to the surgery which was still busy with patients going in for their jabs.

Several children went in before me, all happy and coming out crying, poor little mites.

I was called in on time and the nurse administered my jab and commented on how well I was looking.

When we got out it was snowing heavy and laying so I dont know what the morning will bring but it has turned very cold indeed.

My Diary –Got my appointment at last.

The letter arrived today and I have got an appointment at the follow up clinic for the results of my Thyroid Bi-Op and CAT Scan on Monday 8th Feb so thats goodnews.

These humans are very messy

We woke up early again as the dog barked and this time the security light was on and a garden light has been knocked over so something is out there.

It might be a fox or a cat but what ever I couldnt get back to sleep so I gave up at 6am,  made myself a coffee and answered emails.

I made a leek and potato soup and let it simmer away ready for lunch and then we went for a walk as it was a lovely milder day with the sun beaming.

The tide was in and it was just a delight to be out.

I met my neighbour who was walking with a walking stick and looks very weak –I havebeen wrapped up in my own problems I didnt know she had slipped up in the snow in her garden and had been in hopital with her injuries, a damage back.

We walked back slowly with her and chatted away until we arrived back home.

We have been watching the full moon from the Lounge window as the clouds passed over it almost hearing the howl of a wolf as it was like a movie, spooky.

I got the dinner on of Sweet and Sour chicken, Stir fry vegetables and once again relaxing after a good day.

My Diary–A day of thought.

The usual  walk with the dog today was very enjoyable even if it was cold.

I had a present from a dear friend today of a Desert Scarf to wrap around my face and head and it will keep the cold weather out so I will certainly be using that to the full.

We had woken up to a frost covering the roofs again and the car window screens needed a scrape early morning but they promise tomorrow will be warmer.

Louis had sore and swollen eyes this morning for some reason I really dont know why so I put some drops in and he recovered in no time.

He has had a good play tonight and a walk again round the park in the dark so he is ready for bed now.

Louis washing Up

He really is a poser.

I found a poem today that has made me sit and think and weigh up my life.

If I Had My Life to Live Over
by Erma Bombeck

(Written after she found out she was dying from cancer)
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren’t there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn’t show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I’d have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, “Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.”

There would have been more “I love you’s.” More “I’m sorry’s.”

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute, look at it and really see it , live it and never give it back.

I really couldnt put it any better than that. xx

My Diary —My results are on the way

Ray made a phone call to my Doctors Secretery and she says the results of my Thyroid Bi-Op are being scanned by the hopital and emailed to the Doctor but they cant scan the CT Scan they will have to send it so I have to wait until the Doctor recieves them and then he will phone me.

I phoned my Macmillian nurse and she says ahe will chase the appointment to discuss the results with the Oncologist.

I just have a fear of dropping out off the system as it hasnt been explained what happens next and so I dont know how it goes from here.

We went out in the car and it was so cold so bitterly cold on Tankerton slopes although it was a sunny day but everyone was wrapped up warm again.

I have had a Beef Curry cooking all day in the slow cook with the aroma travelling through the whole house making us feel hungry.

Louis emailing his friends

I also walked the dog again around the park and it did appear to be a bit warmer only he kept us awake all night last night as something spooked him.

He ran around barking and then just as I dropped off again he would do a little yap.

The security lights didnt come on so It must have been a fox or something roaming out the front.

I hope he gets a good nights sleep tonight then we can all catch up.
