Yes It was our wedding Anniversary yesterday and Ray had this lovely card made by Moon Pig. I do love the way you can personalise Cards so he had sent all our photos to them and this lovely card arrived.
We did go out in the wonderful sun what a great day and so warm, at last we have a summer starting.
Louis had a nice walk and when we came home I cooked a roast dinner as a surprise.
Ray wrote a nice blog about our wedding –so long ago and yet feels like yesterday https://mesoandme.wordpress.com/2015/06/04/thursday-124/
It was a very quiet day really life is very stable at the moment as I live from one day to the next celebrating that I can live another day at a time. Im trying to use this time wisely and focus on a World wide ban of Asbestos and helping to find the right treatment for all.
I seek all I can to help the mesowarriors that are looking to me for help. This is escalating now. I dont know if its because there are more victims or if its the fact that my name is out there and I have become extremely contactable.
Its what I hoped would happen.
I have had 2 interviews about my drug. One in the US and one by IATP here in the UK.
It is great that the men in the Asbestos sector are so interested in us warriors as we are a warning for the men to keep safe but there are some very bad stories of them taking chances. We must get across to all sectors just how dangerous Asbestos is and we shouldnt be cutting corners.
My attention was bought to the Medical examinations Asbestos workers now have to have —If only this had been law in the 60’s we would have found just what was going on as we lost our friends one by one to what was then thought to be Lung cancer xx
As from 30th April 2015 all workers who carry out Notifiable Non-Licensed Work (NNLW) on Asbestos containing materials have to have had a medical examination. Examinations will then need to be repeated at least every 3 years, as long as the worker continues to do NNLW. After 30th April, any worker carrying out NNLW for the first time will have to have an examination before they can start such work. STOP THINK – #Asbestos, never take any chances with this material as it can kill you…All removal work of Asbestos containing materials (ACM’s) are ‘Notifiable’ to the HSE
This is good news as your life is important and you all are doing a wonderful but dangerous job. If only this had been law in the 60’s we would have found just what was going on as we lost our friends one by one to what was then thought to be Lung cancer xx
So many Conferences are going on this year so much talking. Lets hope that each conference does join together and each country as we need a Global banso that we can then join together and rid the world of the demon Asbestos.
Always willing to talk and to share each countries ideas on banning Asbestos, that is what all Mesothelioma Warriors want to see, as we are the victims and we have had a rough deal so far.So much money is made out of Asbestos but its costing one hell of a load of Dollars and Pounds to put right. The money must be spent wisely and in the right places to make a change.
The best way to make people aware is to keep showing where they might find Asbestos and if you google you will find loads of Infomation now. Just keep your eyes open and stop. Please dont take chances call the experts. They dont charge that much and you might save you life and that of your children. Undamaged asbestos products generally pose no threat if they are left undisturbed, But we rarely take safety precautions against airborne asbestos dust.
Asbestos was extensively used as a building material from 1950s through to late 1980s. It was used for hundreds of purposes before being banned in the UK in 1999.
Asbestos doesn’t discriminate — houses, factories, schools, hospitals, offices built or refurbished before the year 2000 are all at risk of containing asbestos.
Types of asbestos you might come across in the home include; Asbestos Cement on an old garage roof, Asbestos Textured Coating on walls and ceilings, Asbestos Insulating Board (AIB) on soffits or on the panel below a window.
This being said, it’s not easy to tell if materials contain asbestos simply by looking at them. Asbestos can only be deterred in a specialist laboratory.
Qualified asbestos operatives are able to take a small 10 pence sized sample of the material which is then analysed by a UKAS accredited laboratory to determine if asbestos is present, and if so, what type of asbestos.
